Description

The cheap rooms at Cefn Bryn become available for you to book when students of Swansea University go home during the holidays. These tranquil and basic single and twin rooms are based on the Swansea University Campus within Singleton Park, which is really close to the beaches and Swansea City Centre. You’ll have central heating in your room, as well as a desk, bed linen, wash basin, tea and coffee making equipment and a phone. You can purchase credit to make calls on your phone from reception.

At Cefn Bryn you will have to share toilets and showers with other people that are staying here. To make friends with other travellers you could head to the campus bars. When you’ve got to know a few people you could watch a play at The Taliesin Theatre together, which is also on campus. When you get up in the mornings you should walk to the Refectory to get your free cooked or continental breakfast, before heading out to explore nearby places like The Mumbles and the Gower Peninsula.

When you’re not lazing in Singleton Park which surrounds Cefn Bryn you can visit any of the beaches in Swansea Bay or take the short journey to Swansea City Centre. Here you can visit the ruins of Swansea Castle, go shopping in the high street stores and spend some time in the Plantasia tropical hot house. The Gower Peninsula is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within easy reach, as is the seaside town of The Mumbles. There’s plenty of vibrant Swansea nightlife for you to enjoy too!

Although limited parking is available on the Swansea University Campus there are two car parks bordering it if you don’t manage to secure a space.

If you have valuables like passports and tickets these can be placed in the safe at reception. Children can stay at Cefn Bryn, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Directions

By Train : To get to Cefn Bryn on the train you should travel to Swansea High Street Station. You can catch a bus from here or take a taxi.

By Bus : Take the main exit out of Swansea High Street Station and catch a bus to the Quadrant bus station. Buses in bays 1, 2 and 3 will take you to the Swansea University Campus. This is where you will find Cefn Bryn.

By Car : Exit the M4 Westbound at junction 42 onto the A483 heading towards Swansea. Once you reach Swansea you need to get onto Oystermouth Road which is the A4067 heading towards The Mumbles. You will find Cefn Bryn on your right in the Swansea University Campus, just after Brynmill Lane.

Exit the M4 Eastbound at junction 47 onto the A483 to Swansea. Head for High Street and when you get to Wind Street turn right onto the A4067 Oystermouth Road. Follow the rest of the directions above to get to Cefn Bryn.
