Don’t give up hope - affordable rooms close to Exeter city centre do exist! Hope Hall is based on the University of Exeter Streatham Campus and offers a far cheaper alternative to hotels when the students are on holiday. Breakfast is even included in the price and served in Hope Hall Dining Room between 8 and 9am. You can buy other meals at Clydesdale House and use the on campus supermarket, launderette, television lounge (subject to availability), cash machines, vending machines and payphones.

When you check in at Hope Hall you’ll be given a temporary residents pass which gives you free access to the swimming pool (July to September only) and the outdoor tennis courts. You can use the sports hall and gym too, although these may incur a fee. Afterwards you can rest in your single room (with shared bathroom or ensuite shower, toilet and wash basin) or ensuite twin room. Your room will come with a bed, desk, wardrobe, tea and coffee making equipment, free toiletries and central heating.

The lakes, woodlands and parks of Streatham Campus (where Hope Hall is situated) will be on your doorstep, so you should earmark some time in your busy schedule to explore at least some of the 350 acres. To discover the sights and sounds of Exeter, catch a bus or take the ten minute walk to the city centre. Here you can stand in awe at Exeter Cathedral, go on a free Read Coat guided tour, visit Northernhay Gardens or shop till you drop. You will find plenty of bars, restaurants and clubs here too!

If you need to check in any later than the times stated above please request this when you book. There’s no need to bring your bed linen or towels as these are supplied by Hope Hall. You can sign up for exercise classes whilst staying at Hope Hall, for a small fee. An iron and board are available upon request from reception. You can request faxes and photocopies at reception too.

Some rooms at Hope Hall are based on the ground floor. If you have a specific disabled requirement please contact us before booking a room so that we can check if a suitable room is available.
Directions
By Train: Exeter St David’s Train Station is the closest train station to Hope Hall. You can either walk from here or catch a taxi if you have lots of luggage.
By Car: From the M5 – exit at junction 30 and get onto the A379 which is the 3rd exit at the roundabout. The University of Exeter Streatham Campus, where Hope Hall is based, is well signposted from here.

From the A30 – take the Dawlish and Marsh Barton exit and turn left at the roundabout onto Alphington Spur. Keep going and going until you hit a large roundabout where you should take the 3rd exit onto Bonhay Road. Once you have driven past Exeter St David’s Train Station, turn sharp right at the mini roundabout onto St David’s Hill. Take the 2nd left into Hele Road, turn left again into New North Road then take your 2nd right onto Streatham Drive. The right hand fork (Prince of Wales Road) will lead you straight onto the University of Exeter Streatham Campus where you will find Hope Hall.
On Foot : Leave Exeter St David’s Train Station via the main exit and walk down the right hand side of the car park. Once you get to Bonhay Road cross over at the lights, turn left and then right onto St Clements Lane. Go up the hill, cross over St David’s Hill and walk up Howell Road. Cross over at the next set of traffic lights and then turn left. Take the main right hand turning onto Streatham Drive and follow the fork to the left. This will take you to the University of Exeter Streatham Campus where Hope Hall is based.
