If money is tight and you need budget accommodation close to Central London, stay in a room at Parkstead House. Normally occupied by students of Roehampton University during term time, rooms at Parkstead House are available to reserve from June to September. Whether you’re a student travelling alone, a budget traveller, a family, or a large group of friends, Parkstead House will be able to accommodate you in its ensuite single rooms. Many of the rooms are arranged in flats for up to 10 people.

Every room has an internet connection which you pay a small fee for. You will share a self catering kitchen (which has tea and coffee facilities) and a comfortable lounge area where you can chill out with friends or get to know other people staying here. If you hate cooking for yourself you can always use the dining room which is open from Monday to Friday. You can buy drinks and snacks from here and even hot meals between 12 and 2pm. The coin operated laundry at Parkstead House is very handy!

Beautiful Parkstead House, a Grade I listed villa designed for the 2nd Earl of Bessborough, is located in the grounds of the campus you will be staying in. You will find the vast expanse of Richmond Park nearby where you can picnic. Wimbledon is close by, which is home to Wimbledon Common and the Wimbledon Tennis Championships. It’s easy to get to Barnes Wetland Centre from Parkstead house, as well as Kew Gardens, Richmond, Kingston, and all the tourist attractions of Central London.

You can park your car for free at Parkstead House, subject to availability. Your bed linen and towels will be provided. You cannot smoke in your room and children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Directions

By Train : Catch a train to Barnes, Putney or Wimbledon train stations. You need to catch a bus from each of these stations to get to Parkstead House.

By Tube : To get to Parkstead House on the tube you can travel to Hammersmith Tube Station on the District, Piccadilly and Hammersmith and City Lines, Wimbledon on the District line or Putney Bridge Tube Station which is also on the District line. You will have to get on a bus for the rest of your journey.

By Bus : At Barnes Train Station you can catch the number 265 Tolworth bus or the number 72 Roehampton bus toget to Parkstead House.

When you arrive at Wimbledon Tube or Train Station you need to walk to Wimbledon Hill and catch the number 493 Richmond bus.

The number 85 Kingston bus from outside Putney Train Station will take you close to Parkstead House.

When you reach Hammersmith Tube Station head to the 1st floor of the shopping centre and catch the 72 bus for Roehampton.

At Putney Bridge Tube Station take the number 265 from outside the station heading towards Tolworth.

Whatever bus you take, get off at Roehampton Lane and follow the by foot directions below.

By Foot : Get off the bus at Roehampton Lane and turn left into Danebury Avenue. Turn left again into Holyhead Avenue. Whitelands College Campus (home of Parkstead House) is the second turning to your right.

By Car : You need to exit the M25 at junction 10 and travel on the A3 towards Kingston. Then you need to get onto the A306 Roehampton Lane. At the crossroads with traffic lights turn left into Danebury Avenue and left again onto Holyhead Avenue. The second turning on your right is where Parkstead House is located.
